Day-by-day itinerary

From Kilimanjaro Airport to the wild. Every step planned.

Day 1

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport

Met by your guide at JRO and driven to your lodge outside Arusha for a relaxed first night, a briefing on the days ahead and dinner.

Day 2

Arusha to the Ngorongoro Highlands

Drive through the Rift Valley escarpment and Karatu farmlands to the crater rim, with an afternoon at leisure and sundowners over the caldera.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater to Ndutu

A morning descent into the crater for game viewing among lion, elephant, buffalo and black rhino, then on to the Ndutu plains in the afternoon.

Days 4 & 5

Full days on the calving grounds

Sunrise to sunset on the short-grass plains: newborn calves finding their feet, cheetah hunting in the open, lion prides on the kopjes and hyena and jackal working the edges of the herds.

Day 6

Ndutu and the southern Serengeti

A final full day following the herds wherever they have moved, with a bush picnic and time for photography in the best light.

Day 7

Return to Kilimanjaro Airport

Breakfast in camp, a last game drive out through the plains and the drive back to JRO for your onward flight.
